| Best Dive Sites at La Corbeteña |
| La Corbeteña is known for pelagic action including Schools of Jacks, Bath Rays, Mantas, Reef Sharks, Whale Sharks, Sail Fish, Marlin, Wahoo and Dolphins. The north side presents a slope bottom type while the south side drops rapidly to a sand bar at 140 ft, just about 1 mile west from the Rock there is a ridge called "El Sequial" the shallowest picks are 75 ft deep, on the north edge a wall from 120 ft to 240 ft is covered with black coral trees and spectacular caves. All the fish here is in its adult stage and the place is constantly visited by large sharks. During summer and fall months, the amount of mantas activity in La Corbeteña ( Chimo and El Morro ) increases dramatically, and it's not uncommon to have several encounters during each day. The size and grace of these animals is a great diving treat, and summer's the best time for close encounters! A minimum of 6 divers are required to make this expedition. | La Corbeteña is the furthest pinnacle from shore, is situated 36 nautical miles off shore, If you have over 200 logged dives under your belt, you may be a candidate to explore the last diving frontier. Called by the native fisherman " La Piedra " is best to dive during the summer months, the vis. could easily reach the 120 ft mark. |
